Do you know what short term disability does? When people ask for a day off due to an illness, short term disability insurance kicks in. This is actually what sick leave is. I just asked a friend about sick leave and he didn’t even know what I was talking about. I think it’s because most non-government companies don’t have it. Sick leave is quite useful.
